![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Though I would love to see ABC (australia), BBC, DWTV English, Al Jazeera (English), EuroNews, and CBC News channel in an "International news package", there is quite a bit of international news available to AT subscribers with a dish pointed at 61.5 or even just at 110/119. Oodles of international news on Dish but you have to look for it. Anyways, the point really is that Dish Network could add CNNi to its lineup and it would appease many who want more diverse news broadcasts, even though there are some who will say it is a waste of bandwith. Personally, I wish they would do this all the time after midnight but since there is no west coast feed, I guess that until 2amET it makes sense for them to repeat the programming as a 'West Coast Primetime' feed. This isn't the first time CNN North America has done this, as they often will simulcast the CNNi feed when events outside of North America are occuring and CNN has decided that it is in the best interest of both the network and the viewers to maintain an up-to-date live feed as opposed to showing the overnight repeats of Anderson Cooper 360, Larry King and Lou Dobbs. After Anderson Cooper last night (so come midnight ET) they also decided to simulcast the CNNi feed. CNN North America had orignally planned to air from 5-8pm some documentaries that they had produced on Obama on others, and at 8pm had intended to have a special edition of Larry King Live which has since been bumped. This was SOLEY because of the ongoing international event in India. From 5pm until just now (its just about to be 9pm), CNN North America (the one we get on Dish Network) was simulcasting CNNi. I know its off topic but I guess I can explain this. ![]()
